Today, Eastern Regional Referral Hospital (ERRH) joined the global community in observing World Sight Day 2026 under this yearโs theme: โEvery Story Countsโ

The celebration brought together the ERRH family to reflect on the importance of eye health and the stories behind every patient we serve.
The programme included a singing of His Majestyโs Zhabten, Tashi Tsekpa recitation, cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a presentation on the ERRH Eye Screening Report 2025, presented by the Head of Department, Ophthalmology. The presentation highlighted the findings from eye screening activities among ERRH staff and provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of protecting the vision and eye health of our own healthcare workers.
Every screening represents a person. Every patient has a story. Every story counts.
Our sincere gratitude to the Primary Eye Care Programme, Ministry of Health, for their continued support, guidance, and ophthalmic staff of ERRH for their commitment towards strengthening eye health services in the region, and to all the staff of ERRH for the continued support and participation in promoting eye health and preventing avoidable vision loss.
Happy World Sight Day 2026!
