The Infection Control and Quality Assurance Unit organised a five-day training aimed to enhance healthcare workers’ knowledge and practices in infection prevention and medical waste management. It was conducted over 5 days in batches last week.

The training covered key topics on Standard and transmission-based precautions, MDRO prevention strategies, hand hygiene techniques and compliance, WHO guidelines on HAI prevention, Surgical Site Infections, Occupational hazard and risk management protocols, Medical waste segregation, decontamination, and disposal as per national standards.

A total of 192 healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, paramedics, support staff, and infection control personnel participated in the training.

The training was supported by the Infection Control Program under the Department of Clinical Services
