Thirty third-year nursing students from Apollo Bhutan Institute of Nursing (ABIN) commenced their clinical posting at ERRH today. This marks the first batch of nursing students to be posted at the hospital following the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between ERRH and ABIN on August 13, 2025.

The Nursing Superintendent and Quality Focal Person conducted the initial physical orientation for the students and their supervisor in the morning. Later, the students were welcomed in the conference hall, where they were briefed on the hospital profile, biomedical ethics, quality and safety standards, infection control, and other essential dos and don’ts by the Nursing Superintendent, Quality Focal Person, and the Indoor and MCH In-Charges.
On behalf of the Medical Superintendent, the Deputy Chief ADMO formally welcomed the students. He encouraged them to abide by the hospital’s rules and regulations, demonstrate exemplary conduct, and earn the trust and confidence of patients, the hospital, and the public. He also reminded them to always show empathy toward patients and expressed hope for a lasting partnership between ERRH and ABIN in providing clinical opportunities for future nurses.
Clinical postings play a vital role in bridging theory and practice. They allow nursing students to gain firsthand experience in patient care, develop critical thinking, and strengthen teamwork skills in real clinical settings.
Over the next five weeks, the students will rotate through different hospital units under the supervision of a lecturer, acquiring essential skills and professional values that will prepare them to become competent and compassionate nurses.
