The Bhutan Computer Incident Response Team (BtCIRT) conducted an awareness and sensitization program on cybersecurity for the staff of ERRH today. The session began with an overview of BtCIRTโ€™s roles and services, as well as the challenges they face and the current cybercrime situation in Bhutan.

The team highlighted common cyber threats and the impact of cybercrime on individuals and institutions. They cautioned participants about online scams, including prize and lottery scams, fake job offers, impersonation scams, and cryptocurrency investment scams. The team also shared the risks associated with these scams, along with ways to identify them and report the incidents to relevant authorities such as RBP, BICMA, and BtCIRT.

In addition, the team emphasized the importance of good cyber hygiene practices, such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor and multi-factor authentication, and regularly backing up data. The hospital administration expressed appreciation to the BtCIRT team for sharing an important and timely program to help protect staff and the institution from cyber threats.
