In an effort to improve critical care service delivery, 121 health staff of ERRH (Specialists, GDMOs, nurses, & Emergency Medical Responders) were trained over 8 batches on the 2025 Adult Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) guidelines and resuscitation in special circumstances, including cardiac arrest in pregnancy. The training included a two-week online course under Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan Druk Sukchop program followed by a two-day hands-on simulation training at ERRH.

With this initiative 100% of ICU, Medicine, and Emergency staff and the majority of nurses from various departments are now trained in ACLS, improving confidence in providing evidence-based resuscitation. We sincerely thank Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and KGUMSB for donating simulation equipment that supported this training.
