Eastern Regional Referral Hospital is pleased to welcome and announce a new astrology teacher (རྩིས་པའི་སློབ་དཔོན) Tandin Wangchuk who joined us on 2nd June, 2025.
He is appointed by Zhung Dratshang as per our request to further enhance and strengthen spiritual services in our hospital.
At just 24 years of age, Lopen Tandin brings with him wisdom and knowledge from an esteemed Gomo Kora Astrology School, under the Tashi Yangtse Dzongkhag. The presence of Lopen is expected to further enhance spiritual care, particularly in moments of profound significance such as childbirth and end-of-life.
Astrology holds deep cultural and spiritual value in Bhutanese society, and its role within the hospital setting not only supports patients and families during challenging times but also helps uphold our spiritual traditions and beliefs.
His contributions will complement the existing spiritual support already being offered by the hospital’s Chief Lam and Assistant Lam.
